Project
Entertainment 2016
Created in 2011 to inspire the next 5 years of merchandising and design strategy, this project took a look at all of the various impacts of digital transformation in consumer trends and develop a vision for the future of the Walmart Entertainment Department

Discovery
An exhaustive research and gathering of all pertinent data, images, and ideas that are collected and distilled down to a simple but thought provoking set of criteria by which the design will be judged.

Vision
Department organized into 3 major merchandising segments: Home Solutions, Service Hub & Entertainment. The focus of the department navigation is on 4 key areas with specific focus elements to highlight the segment with the "What's New" hub in the center surrounding wireless. Devices and their associated accessories are organized together

Service Hub
New technology drives consumers to the electronics department. Providing a central location to showcase “new “ is critical. At the time wireless technology was growing at an exceptional rate. Capturing as much market share as possible is critical to the overall department success. Consultation on new and emerging technology is key to overcome consumer apprehension against large purchases

Home Entertainment
As the physical medium for movies, music & games becomes irrelevant, browsing titles and watch/listening through kiosks becomes essential. Physical media can be sold through a catalog system referenced through the browsing kiosks or through your smart phone. Devices are merchandised toward the front of the department, while accessories are immediately adjacent. New products are located at the center of the pad.

Home Theater
Positioned close to the Consultation area, Home Theater brings together all of the aspects of the Entertainment and Home Solutions into one experience. Merchandise in this area is centered around the full package solution of the entertainment experience in your home, or fill in your current set up with new components. What ever you need we have it.

Home Solutions
As technology becomes more complex and new products and features allow consumers to more with each individual device, inspiration will be key to driving interest, but education will be critical to drive sales. Bringing new technology into your home can be a challenge to get set up. This area breaks down the complexities and helps you sort through it all. Similar to the Entertainment area, devices are located in the front on low tables with accessories and peripherals toward the rear
